The Cape Coral Lions Club is looking for men & womem of all ages to become a Lion. If you are interested in helping the visally impared persons in our community & the state of florida please call lion Lois or lion Ron kilgore at 239-549-5378.
The Cape Coral Lions Club is entering it's 46th year of serving the Cape Coral community. It is one of the oldest civic organizations in a town that started in the 1970?s.
The Cape started out as a primarily retirement community, but as seniors moved in, their children came down and discovered Paradise and moved here as well. Now we are a thriving, diversified city where there is room for everyone. Along with growth comes responsibility and our charter members saw the need for a Lions Club here.
Although we are not a huge club we work hard and have fun. We raise money for our entities: Southeast Guide Dogs, Cochlin Center for the Multi- Handicapped, the Florida Lion?s Camp for Disabled Children, the Eye Bank, Leader Dogs, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.
In addition we help the Visually Impaired Persons Rehabilitation Center in North Ft. Myers and several other charitable organizations.
This year in the area of youth we provided scholarships to 3 local high school seniors, purchased a special reading device for a blind student mainstreamed in the local school system.
We provide eye exams and hearing test for community residents with financial needs. For further information on eyeware & eye surgery help, call Joe McCabe at 239-573-1036. We Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids for recycling.
In addition to our Candy Day & White Cane Day participation, we heave fund raising projects of our own. We ring the bells for the Salvation Army and lend our support and manpower to help other causes to keep Cape Coral our Paradise and try to help make our planet a Paradise.
